Video Studio uses the video credit pool

Individual top-ups are priced at 19 HKD per 100 credits (0.19 HKD per credit) — double the image rate.

total credits = baseCredits × durationMultiplier × resolutionMultiplier

Credits are checked before generation and deducted only after a video successfully completes.

Top-up rate

Video credits are not priced at the image rate (9 HKD/100). Always use the video top-up price when budgeting.

How multipliers work

Each model defines:

• baseCredits — cost at the model's default duration and resolution.
• durationMultipliers — keyed by seconds (e.g. 5s = ×1, 10s = ×2).
• resolutionMultipliers — keyed by resolution (e.g. 720p = ×1, 1080p = ×1.5).

Example: a model with base 50, duration 10s (×2), resolution 1080p (×1.5) → 50 × 2 × 1.5 = 150 credits.

Longer durations and higher resolutions increase the multiplier — check the live estimate in the studio before generating.

Worked examples

Kling 3.0 Standard, 5s, base resolution — 85 credits

• User pays: 85 × 0.19 = 16.15 HKD (individual top-up rate)

Seedance 2.0 Fast, 5s, 720p — 60 credits (lowest-margin model in catalog)

• User pays: 60 × 0.19 = 11.40 HKD

Veo3 Pro, 8s, with audio enabled

Base table assumes no audio. fal.ai charges roughly 2× for native audio on Veo3/Kling 2.6+/Kling 3.0 — margin is lower than the no-audio figure but generation still completes at the listed credit charge today.

School defaults

Each school member's plan-base video cap defaults to 200 credits (not 100). Admins can assign bonus credits from the school pool above that floor.

In-chat vs studio

Video generation only runs through Video Generate Studio and bills video credits. There is no in-chat video agent tool on the chat credit pool.

Live baseCredits and multipliers are defined in video-studio-credits.ts and may be retuned when fal.ai prices change. Trust the credit preview in the UI.
