Let Chat guide you with questions instead of giving answers straight away — great for real learning.

Study mode (also called learning mode)

Study mode changes how Chat responds: instead of handing you the answer, it guides you with questions so you think through the problem yourself.

It's especially useful when you want practice thinking, not just copied solutions.

In Chat

Study mode may be available from the composer when your school or tutor allows it. Turn it on when you want guided practice rather than direct solutions.

Look for a Study or learning-mode toggle near the message box.

In Tutors

Tutor owners control study mode in General settings → Allow study mode:

  • User chooses — students can toggle it on or off.
  • Always on — every reply uses guided questioning.
  • Always off — Chat answers directly.

When to use it

- Exam revision where you need to practice reasoning, not copy answers.

- Homework help when you want hints, not full solutions.

- Language practice with follow-up questions.

Teachers can set Always on for revision tutors and Always off for reference tutors that should answer directly.

Study mode works best with a clear question and any relevant files already attached or in the tutor knowledge base.
