There are three ways to get a Tutor into your account: build one from scratch, import a colleague's share code, or browse Tutor Hub for community templates. All three give you a fully editable copy you can customize.

Create from scratch

Starting from scratch gives you full control over the tutor's name, model, and behavior from day one.

  1. Click Tutor in the sidebar → New tutorCreate.
  2. Enter a display name, pick a model, and write a system prompt.
  3. Click Create. Your tutor appears in the list and sidebar favorites.

Import with a share code

Share codes let colleagues pass you a ready-made tutor without publishing it to Tutor Hub. You receive your own independent copy.

  1. Click New tutorImport.
  2. Paste the 8-character share code from a colleague.
  3. You get a full editable copy — settings, and optionally the knowledge base.

Browse your tutors

The Tutors page is your home base for finding and managing every tutor you own or have been assigned. Use filters and views to stay organized as your collection grows.

The Tutors page supports:

  • List or icon view, search, and sort (recent / title).
  • Filters: All, Assigned, My tutors, Tutor Hub.
  • Tag and owner filters (teacher-owned vs student-owned).
  • Actions: rename, duplicate, delete, favorite, Import & co-teach.

Set up the Tutor Panel

After creating or importing a tutor, open it to configure how it behaves for you and your students. Most settings can be changed at any time without losing chat history.

Open your tutor to configure:

  • General — icon (upload or AI-generate), persona, study mode, reply length, advanced model settings, welcome message.
  • Conversation startFree chat or a structured form (drag-and-drop fields students fill before chatting).
  • Knowledge Base — upload files (see Add knowledge to your Tutor).

Star a tutor to pin it under Favorite Tutors in the sidebar.
