The Students tab (for tutor owners)

The Students tab (for tutor owners) turns a Tutor from a personal assistant into a classroom tool — roster, missions, live sessions, evaluations, and Interactive Space live here. Students see a separate Missions tab when missions are enabled.

Add students to a Tutor

Assigning students gives them access to the Tutor and lets you track their questions and mission progress.

1. Open your Tutor → Students tab.
2. Click Manage Students or Add Students.
3. Search by name, email, or class; select students and save.

The list shows questions asked, mission progress, and last question per student. Open History to view their conversations with this Tutor.

Create a mission

Missions give students structured goals (up to 5 per tutor).

Missions turn open-ended chat into measurable learning objectives. Each mission has a name, description, and completion criteria that Chat's mission-checking agent monitors automatically.

Teachers: open the Students tab → scroll to the Missions section (not a separate top-level tab).

1. Turn missions on and click Create a Mission.
2. Enter name, description, and completion criteria.
3. Use Improve with AI to refine the wording.
4. Toggle visible to students on or off.

Students: when missions are visible, a Missions tab appears in their Tutor panel.

Live session controls

During class, use Live Session settings:

Live session controls help you manage classroom pace when many students are chatting with the Tutor at once.

• Mute students — block new messages from students.
• Request frequency limit — minimum seconds between student messages.
• Interactive post frequency — throttle posts to Interactive Space.

Settings can auto-reset when you leave a session.

Interactive Space

Students can push a conversation to the Interactive Space so the teacher sees it on the projector or shared screen.

Interactive Space is ideal for whole-class discussion — students share interesting questions or answers for everyone to see.

1. Open Interactive Space in the Tutor Panel.
2. View student-pushed threads during the session.
3. Collapse/expand messages as needed.

Pair missions with Evaluations to measure how students engaged with the Tutor over time.
